A Day of relaxation in Malta

Malta 1st May (2)Every year, on the occasion of the feast of St Joseph the Worker, May 1st, the community of the Seminary and the formators spend a day of relaxation in Malta.  This year, the feast fell on a Thursday.

Our first visit was to the MSSP Oratory at Birkirkara.  We were shown around by Fr Martin Cilia who explained to us the pastoral work of the community in the field of catechesis.  After Mass, we visited the Oratory chapel where Fr Nathaniel Teuma showed us his painting of icons and explained to us the meaning of every icon.

We then visited the Inquisition Palace at Birgu.  We saw various aspects of the Inquisition period on the island and we could also admire various works of art and architecture.

At noon, we were hosted for lunch at the Seminary of Tal-Virtù.  On our way to Gozo, we stopped the MonteKristo Animal Park,  where one can see many different animals, some of which are rare species on the Island.
